@DutyBard eye-care is still free at the point of need in Scotland. No signs of it disappearing as yet, or becoming spec savers. But, I live in the sticks 30 miles from the closest cities and rarely visit. Nice to see the opticians are all interested in care rather than sales and profits. Lots of job satisfaction.
