While reading a thread on twitter about people knitting or doing crochet during lectures and such (thanks Jo Bell) I remembered something I noticed a while ago. Hoping people will chime in!
➡️When I paint I can not listen to or concentrate on an audio book or podcast, while painting I need either quiet or very familiar music so that my brain doesn’t have to “think” too much...1/2

2/2 Yet while I’m sculpting (working with wire or carving in plaster or wood etc) I can listen to an audiobook or a podcast for hours on end and my hands will just keep going. Why is that? What’s the difference between painting/sculpting? I’m genuinely interested. (Next questsion will be about where art and science overlaps 😁)
