I think one of the hardest things about dealing with chronic health conditions is just how many 'experts' there are.
Hardly a day goes by when I get a well-intentioned person dropping into my DMs telling me "what you need to do is..." or "you need to try...".
Had another today telling me that all I need to do is fast. That will fix me. And I shouldn't fast overnight. That's cheating apparently and, quote, "it doesn't work... What I did was..."
I really appreciate the care and intention, but I would rather like to simply trust my team of doctors and other health professionals who have trained for this.
Telling me your unsolicited opinion really does not help my mental health, when already chronic anxiety and chronic insomnia are major ingredients.
@garethjms yes, it's tiresome. And in some cases the advice is actually dangerous.

@Ferikmalae A very good point, thank you.
A recognition too that not everyone has the same biochemistry. Even in the same family. I'm allergic to some medication that my late Mum and my sister used.
