With his "DoD ≠ DEI" memo, Pete Hegseth very quickly confirmed how incompetent he is.
It's like he went out of his way to live down to the 11B platoon leader stereotype.

For openers, as an actual bit of guidance it's clear as mud given that they can't actually describe what they think DEI is.

Secondly, he has to know that his readers see this and translate it to "DoD ≠ <n word>s, <other racial slur>s, women, <homosexual slur>s, and especially <transgender slur>s." That includes the people inside the pentagon who agree with him and those who are repulsed by this attack on people who are going about their business of protecting this country.

You would think that graduating Princeton and Harvard would be some indication of intelligence, but apparently not.

For a bunch of people who claim that eliminating "Woke" and "DEI" is about establishing a meritocracy here's a prime example of what they're really after, making it easier for mediocre (to be generous in this case) white guys to be in charge.

To be clear, he was at best a junior officer in the national guard (no shade on the guard, I was in the guard for 20 years), his idea of who the military needs apparently begins and ends with Infantry men forget about the other ~ 2.8 milion DoD employees.

I can't think of a better way of weakening the United States than by hiring this knuckle-dragger.
