See which countries score the worst on the RSF Global Press Freedom Index.

👉 Threats posed by governments and lawmakers are among the most concerning challenges for journalists around the world, Reporters Without Borders said in a report on Friday.

More governments and political authorities are failing to support and respect press freedom, the media watchdog, known as RSF, said as it released its annual World Press Freedom Index.

I'm currently seeking a #remotejob with a distributed engineering team in an American company.

I enjoy working with #AWS, #terraform / #OpenTofu, #Kubernetes and #CICD automation.

I've been out of the game for a while and I'm happy to consider mid-level roles for the first year. I'm a US citizen living in Istanbul (UTC+3) & maintain Michigan residency for tax purposes.

Signal boosts are very much appreciated.

Highly recommended for news on electrifying transportation. Available on PeerTube as well as YouTube (but the story I linked predates this).

This week, the head of the Tesla Supercharger network was fired, along with almost everyone who worked under her.
On today's Batteries Included Podcast, we talk about the mass firings, the fallout, and what we've learned since.
And, of course, more. (But, mostly about the Supercharger network situation.) youtube.com/watch?v=sIGtRX7sQw

What a surprise.

"The auditor for former president Donald Trump’s media company was charged with “massive fraud” Friday by the Securities and Exchange Commission, which accused the firm of being a “sham audit mill” whose failures put investors at risk."

I bet if you formed an electric car company made only of people who previously worked for Tesla then quit in disgust, you could make a really good electric car company

So Utah, having passed a transphobic bathroom bill, has launched an online form for people to snitch on folks they think are in the "wrong" bathroom or locker room.

Be a real shame if people on the Internet flooded it with fake reports: ut-sao-special-prod.web.app/se

Many people do not understand why I think that the IEEE 754 Floating Point standard is defective and should be replaced.

So I made a demonstrator. You can enter a number literal or arithmetic expression, and it will show you IEEE 754's version. I think the errors are shocking.

A warm welcome on Mastodon to blogger and Bachelor of Science @chahalAman.

Like so many of us, Aman used to be very active at The Dead Bird's Graveyard, where she was followed by 310 people, and now she is followed by only 3 people here on Mastodon.

But what do you say Mastodonians? We can improve that, can't we? Let's work our magic! ♥️💕🐘

Trying to find a Samoan song I was taught as a child, includes the lyrics " kua fiafia". If anyone has a link, that would be great. Google doesn't recognize it as a song.

It's a delightful simple tune I have sung now for decades to the confusion of my New England neighbors. My grade school class sang it at our school's May Day celebration which, in Hawai'i was a celebration of all the different cultures in our state. We learned Bon dancing, square dancing, hula (of course), Filipino stick dancing (tinikling), the Kamehameha waltz, etc, and songs from around the Pacific.

Internets? Can you do your thing?

Hi everyone! Nikki here - I just wanted to remind those of you who aren't yet Patreons that our Patreon supporters gain access to our videos the day before they publish to a general audience - and prices start from just $1 a month!

We would LOVE some more supporters - especially as we've lost quite a lot of support in recent months due to people experiencing a change of circumstance, some economic uncertainty, and the unfortunate passing of some of our previous patrons). We're down about $800 a month on November last year.

We ONLY get support through Patreon, YouTube Ad Revenue (which has been terrible of late) and third-party consulting, so any help would be really appreciated.

You can join today at patreon.com/transportevolved!

Thank you! :)
