Let’s fix this, Washington Post. “Does DEI training discriminate against white people?” The answer is no.
Diversity, equity, and inclusion are valuable goals. They benefit everyone. That’s almost self-evident.
Attempts to rectify discrimination against disadvantaged groups is NEVER discrimination against the advantaged group.
If some judges find otherwise, they will be wrong.
Every time #KamalaHarris says “We’re not going back,” I think of the many ways in which that is true for me. One of them: I’m not going back to private, commercial social media. Just as healthy democracies disperse the powers of the state, healthy social media avoids excessive concentration. I will make this point to the #Harris campaign when I get their attention for Mastodon for Harris. Let’s keep showing them they should be participating in this community. https://secure.actblue.com/donate/mastodon-for-harris

It has a tiny working USB keyboard with ~80 keys. It has a cute little 3.5" display panel. It may be the cutest thing I've ever created but you tell me!

Ok, time for me to take a bath and weep for exhausted joy.
Based on all available evidence, Egypt gave Trump $10 million in cash a few days before his 2017 inauguration (that’s 200 pounds of $100 bills). The FBI and DOJ started investigating this in 2019, but attorney general Bill Barr shut that down.
Note that Sen. Bob Menendez was just convicted of likewise taking bribes from Egypt. This is their MO. https://wapo.st/3SxAkvO

Omg!! East Bay Booksellers burnt down today!!
I *knew* I smelled something on fire when i got ready this morning! I just thought it was the smell of a wildfire somewhere.
It's, like, gutted. Down to the bricks. Nothing standing but a shell. It's amazing that nothing else burned down next to it.
Oh man. That was my bookstore.

The more you work with governments and multinational enterprises internationally, the more you realise that the ‘deep state’ and most popular conspiracy theories couldn’t possibly be true because most people are just incompetent.
Like *sure* they have the resources, but have you met half the people working at these levels.
And they can’t operate without staff, and people would just leak it all, not even intentionally.
I think of the idea of the Illuminati or some other underground network controlling the world, then I log into Azure DevOps and look at 1000 people’s efforts to deliver a fucking web service and I’m reassured that I’m correct, without a shadow of a doubt.

The cryptocurrency industry has been working overtime to sell a story: that there is a large contingent of voters voting based on candidates’ crypto policy stances. The problem is, it’s a story that does not seem to be well supported by data.

I closed my Twitter some short time after Elon bought it, and moved on to other social media. Primarily Mastodon, for the things I used to do on Twitter, but also Facebook, and for some things, Reddit.
No combination of other "places" ever quite replaced what Twitter provided me - connections to people I know, as well as occasional insights into subcultures entirely outside my circle. Mil-Twitter, Black Twitter, Indigenous Twitter, and Trans Twitter, in particular.
I recently created a read-only Twitter account for work, because there is still a lot of #infosec analysis that's hard to find elsewhere.
But, X is now SO MUCH worse than Twitter ever was. The main feed is just the worst right-wing outrage machine, conspiracy theorist bullshit. It's just one thing after another. I'm sure some people can filter their experience enough to not hate being there, but damn.
I still miss Twitter, but the Twitter I knew is truly dead now. It's like going back to my home town and seeing the Trump signs.
I'm looking for work!
I've worked on Mac apps like Growl and Adium, did QA and integration on Apple's Foundation framework, and developed custom analysis tools for Field Team 6. I've also done a wide variety of my own tools, mostly in Python, C, or Objective-C.
I live in SF; can do Bay Area commute or remote.
