I feel like new #Mastodon users have an advantage at the moment in that the cost to change servers is very little. I've been on #MastodonOnline for years and have thousands of posts and conversations here over that time. I know if I move the posts should stick around here, but all my past tweets point people to my account here, etc. It feels like changing servers at this point is non-trivial.

@vwbusguy Unrelated, but has your experience with been good? I created an account there for that large community feel but created another here since I couldn't stand the sluggishness/lack of local&federated. (Which I am assuming is temporary due to increased load)

@INTERPUNCT Overall yes, it very much has, and that's one of the reasons I'm not immediately jumping ship. But it has been in this state for a couple of days now without any status update about the situation, so that has me a little (but not a lot) concerned at the moment.

@vwbusguy Ah. I found it strange there was only an update about .social, and not one about .online where many new users are likely registering. And apparently mastodon.social is open for signups again? Overall confusing. Thanks for the response.
