@DGiant @funnymonkey someone online just pointed out that Gabbard attacking a gay guy is on point for her.
@garius < I'm not sure, "email me at smalldickenergy@getalife.com" might be better.
A poll \ thread, about lying
@empiricism , I feel it depends also on what the lies are, and not just a count of them. Do the lies cause harm? Would telling the truth cause harm? Are the lies expected and normalized, for example "My kids are the best kids in the world"?
@acjay , my old pattern was to warn folks, but I am rethinking this. Should I warn, or just block when someone is openly a jerk to a stranger? How about when you see someone being a jerk to a 3rd party?
@godpod , Penthouse letters volume IV.
@TheMooreLab @BenWest @Mauigirl52 @mtsw , I get it, I still have a myspace account. I don't check it often though.
@luckytran , I'm a perfectly happy "hold out."
@markhenick what country did males score higher, and what does the data show about minorities?
@TheMooreLab @BenWest @Mauigirl52 @mtsw I'm talking with my wife about this now. And part of the conversation is about ICQ. Do you remember that social media site?? She had a really low number... she thinks it was 4 digits. Which was REALLY low, and sought after.
These days, no one remembers or cares.
One day no matter what our feelings about Twitter are now, it will be vague memories.
@resuna@libranet.de @rodhilton @resuna@ohai.social get someone else to explain it to you.
@TheMooreLab @BenWest @Mauigirl52 @mtsw I agree with that thought, and it is what I did myself. But, it's probably paranoid. Who cares if some douche nozzel pretends to be us, or anyone? I won't open a profile on Parlor, Truth Social, Nextdoor, or the Stormfront pages just to avoid an imposter doing it. So I check every few days... But I probably shouldn't even do that.
@godpod he looks like every guy with an out of state license plate at the local gay bar.
@godpod , sad. Because this is the anniversary of the death of Zoroaster.
@zackfeddich @auschwitzmuseum , one of the most difficult accounts to follow, and one of the most important to.
@jdp23 @KimCrayton1 @QasimRashid @mekkaokereke interesting. I have a personal example. Before COVID, the suicide rate in Japan was higher than the murder AND suicide rates combined in the USA. Something often overlooked when discussing society and crime. Since COVID, that is no longer true. Both murder and suicide rates increased in the USA. But, if presented with certain key arguments in a discussion, I will refer to that fact. Sometimes, I even state it before I remember the facts have changed. It is not a conscious attempt to deceive. And although I know better now, I still use old data if only internally and true to justify the use of that data. Often, I correct myself in 1/10ths of a second and do not state the data in an argument. But I THINK it.
@Mauigirl52 @BenWest @mtsw your posts drive up usage numbers, which raise advertising revenue. It may be insignificant, but all individual snowflakes contribute to a blizzard. All are equally responsible.
@mtsw I was roughly the 300th person to follow Devin Cow. I hate to think of the fear she probably has right now after the fascist takeover of Twitter. And there is nothing I know of that any of us can do to help her.
@lolennui I keep seeing the hilts of those knives. And more and more people looking for fights.
I like mastodon, and the stem server I found to open my profile on. But many of the last few days have been people who just want hate and fights, without logic or reason.
BS in Physics. Will not tolerate hate. I am active here and on Post.
