I've trying to come up with a new static generator for my website, and it's just ludicrous how we've over-engineered the web. Every static generator (Jekyll, Hugo, Plot, etc) requires a humongous amount of configuration. All dynamic software (WP, etc) is inherently slow and ultimately unnecessary. It feels to me that in a quest to write the most generic web software possible, we've made the whole thing too complicated to use.

@brunoph Almost everything about the web is over-engineered like that.
