@SpockResists I'm new to this site too, but my understanding is the mastadon.social server is somewhat overloaded with new users. I picked a smaller, STEM-related server (qoto.org) and haven't had any issues. You can move your account to a different server at any time (and your followers will still be linked to you). Or so I've read!
