TL;DR: That #LEGO "#GreatPyramid of #Giza" model everybody's talking about really is as great as they say. And it comes with lots of little details which make you want to read up on the current state of research in #Egyptology. 😉
It's easy to forget that downtime is still good, is still productive. When my son is here, he often just wants to stay home and chill. I have things we can do here. We can paint, draw, play games, watch movies.
But he needs time *not* doing anything.
So, we often just chill. It's quiet, there's ginger ale, we've got Legos -- and zero pressure to do anything else.

Whoa! I know bats are important, but this is insane. An exclusion experiment by Beilke et al shows that forests without bats are *three to five times* as insect-eaten as forests with bats.
But at beginning many people said this could have serious consequences, and nobody has EVER said, we will do what we can but there will be those who are disabled, and that's inevitable.
They told me (and others) to my face "this is not neuro", for ex, which is demonstrably false
Don't worry about numbers and SARS-CoV-1 very likely more severe, the point is this expectation of mild you've been sold is not based on anything.
Some results will be mild, some not, and nobody has more than a guess what makes it worse, so don't catch it if you can avoid.
On a #LongCOVID "how could we have known" point:
Of 233 SARS survivors participating in follow up about 3.5-4 years later,
- Over 40% had active psychiatric illnesses
- 40.3% reported a chronic fatigue problem
- 27.1% met CDC criteria for chronic fatigue

So... after playing around here a bit, I decided to try a different server. I'm trying to merge the accounts, but the server is busy so it isn't working. Until then, look for me at @pediatricskc The @med-mastodon.com looks like my old crew!
