Copied an ASCII table from a terminal to an emacs scratch buffer
Ctrl-Meta-click-and-drag around the column I wanted
Meta-w to copy it elsewhere for use.
This rectangular selection feature of #emacs was extremely useful today!

@petes_bread_eqn_xls Rectangle editing was one of my requirements for selecting a new text editor back in year 2000 or so. Turns out that MS Word can do it, too, but it's a queasy process.
