I believe one could make libre/#FOSS apps for Linux look a lot more professional and arguably more pleasing to the eye by applying consistent spacing.
It must look so odd that for #macOS app devs, this obsession with detail is taught early on and reinforced all the time.

RED ALERT: The GOP is scared of informed young people. That's why they don't want the younger generation to read books, learn REAL history, think for themselves, or VOTE!
This week: 🔥 Yesterday, Idaho House Republicans passed a bill that would remove student ID cards from the list of acceptable proof of identification to vote. The bill now goes to the GOP-controlled state Senate. The bill’s sponsor said it's needed to prevent fraud; had no proof to back her claim.

I do feel like an increasing number of people are finally getting it. And the alternative doesn't necessarily have to answer to the name socialism, although it might have "social" in its name. Most important is the government must answer to we the people and not the thousands of corporate lobbyists who are corrupting it now.

Just another reason not to use #Ubuntu. I cannot stand #Snap packages. They are garbage compared to #Flatpak, and they are proprietary to Canonical. I find a lot of what they do goes against the spirit of #FOSS. That is just my opinion. I use #Fedora #KDE spin, but if you want a Debian based distro there are many that aren't Ubuntu.

So I’m not surprised by the decision to remove Flatpak from Ubuntu flavors and prevent them from including it—it’s a “competing” tech that virtually everyone in the Linux space who isn't Canonical has rallied behind, after all. You wouldn’t want to make it easy to install 2,000 apps from indie devs and big names alike via Flathub, or to use the unique and compelling ecosystem of elementary AppCenter, or to get the very latest straight from GNOME.

Years ago elementary was approached by Canonical to become an official Ubuntu flavor. “All” we had to do was offer Snap out of the box. We debated it—being able to offload some additional infrastructure concerns was attractive—but we realized it helped Canonical more than it helped us, and we had chosen Flatpak for all of its benefits as covered here:
