1. Zhang et al. 2017. Musical imagery involves Wernicke’s area in bilateral and anti-correlated network interactions in musicians. Sci Rep

Musical imagery seems to recruit more complex neural networks than musical perception. Not to mention the surprising activation of the Wernicke's area (brain region commonly associated with language processing and comprehension). Is it involved in the syntax equivalent in music? 🤔
