@adamr Perhaps I can be of assistance. First, the "Kristallnacht" event is only called like this by Nazis over here. A better term would be "Progromnacht" oder simply "Progrom". Why? Because our oh-so beloved... well, ancestors themselves loved to crush windows. What the heck... Nazis were weird. Nazis are weird. Nazis will stay weird, regardless whether they come from Braunau, Austria, or Rheydt, Germany, or New York City, USA.

But you are right regarding 11/9, because in 1989, actually by mistake, the Berlin Wall and the so-called Iron Curtain became history.
