Reading the NASA Roadmap to Ocean Worlds (about Europa, Enceladus, Titan & other solar system bodies with oceans), and struck by the program aims: "and ultimately understand any life we find". It makes it sound the only point is to find life. But that's just not true - investigating our solar system helps us understand our own planet & context. It's entirely worth doing for its own sake! (although, we do have some urgent Earth problems we should probably prioritise). #Ocean #SolarSystem

RT @EU_Commission: We are highly dependent on imports of critical raw materials, often from single country suppliers.

The proposal will:

🔹 Set clear priorities for action
🔹 Strengthen raw materials supply chains
🔹 Increase circularity and sustainability
🔹 Invest in research and innovation.

RT @EU_Commission: From solar panels to batteries, we want Europe to produce at least 40% of the net-zero technologies it needs by 2030.

The Net-Zero Industry Act we proposed today will create the conditions to scale up their production and make Europe a clean tech leader ↓

Today we have proposed our:

➡Net-Zero Industry Act to boost #cleantech

➡Critical Raw Materials Act to secure the green and digital transition

Both are part of our #EUGreenDeal Industrial Plan and will help 🇪🇺 become climate neutral.

Critical raw materials like lithium, cobalt & nickel are crucial for the green & digital transition.

We need them for wind turbines, electric cars, batteries & electronics.

Our new measures show how circular economy boosts their security of supply:

@drskyskull Not until the last Sunday of March where I am. I feel tired and sleepy only thinking about it 🙃

"Vennel occurs in street-names throughout much of Scotland, including the Glasgow Vennel in Irvine, the Boat Vennel in Ayr, Friars Vennel in Dumfries, Northgate Vennel in Peebles and The Vennel in Edinburgh. The word derives from French venelle, meaning 'little street', and is found in Scots texts from the fifteenth century onwards."

A newly discovered #exoplanet could be worth searching for signs of #life.

Despite its close distance to the central #star, the planet Wolf 1069 b receives only about 65% of the incident radiant power of what Earth receives from the sun.

These special conditions make #planets around red dwarf stars like Wolf 1069 potentially friendly to life.
