@mehluv harassment and bullying especially of females. Yes. Can't even post something as simple as "I like eating grapes" on twitter without being told that there are better fruits and my personal opinion is wrong. N mansplaining toh mat hi poocho.
I built this tool a year ago but I feel like Mastodon folks would like it
The "Weird Old Book Finder"
Type in a search query, and it'll find one randomly-chosen public-domain book that matches the query -- and present it for immediate reading: https://weird-old-book-finder.glitch.me
Why only one book? To prevent the paradox of choice! Just *start readin'*
Can't promise every book will be weird, but most are
A longer essay on how/why I developed it: https://debugger.medium.com/a-search-engine-that-finds-you-weird-old-books-3a74fbb5f3d4
This was a search for "mastodon"
Civic Art Installation, Bangalore
Hilarious video by Bengawalk. You could be driving around any part of Indiranagar or neighbouring areas, you'll definitely spot him 🤣🤣

Have you experienced #Mansplaining on Mastodon / in the Fediverse?

@ansuz my current instance is one of the largest STEM instances here, in case it would interest her.

I send out #WritingOpportunities — jobs, assignments, contests, calls for submissions, etc. — via:
• Google Groups http://groups.google.com/group/Caferati-Listings
• Telegram https://t.me/CaferatiListings
These are not identical feeds. Emails go out max twice a month, whenever I have the time to compile and format, and Telegram posts as and when I spot opportunities. Both are one-way, so the only clutter you will get in your inbox is me.
Both are free and open to all,

Twitter, Elon stans
@mehluv yes!! Second hand embarassment happening 🙈🙈
But as this man said to an Indian stan in Elons comments https://twitter.com/i_am_gustakh/status/1597166690286305281?t=_Wyz3LEkFdmySGfKaF01BQ&s=19
Twitter, Elon stans
I don't mean to share Twitter threads here, but this I just had to. Quite a hilarious collection of Elno stan tweets; people asking him to invent very specific things.
Also gives you some insight into why Elno stans are Elno stans.

@shrikant @vinayaravind is it still playing in theaters? This long?
@shrikant @vinayaravind btw, I read this alternate interpretation/fan theory clearly written by someone who understands Bhoota Kola and the different Daivas better than me; and this makes more sense in tying up some lose ends. I honestly didn't come out of the theater thinking of it this deeply, but it somehow makes sense.
Spioler alert: if you haven't watched the movie yet but intend to, don't read this.

@shrikant @vinayaravind oh it's back? I thought the case was still ongoing. Didn't know it was resolved.
I guess when I say theater experience, I also mean the audience. Being surrounded by people who genuinely believe in and buy into that world. I think as a sceptic I may not have bought into it as much if I had watched it at home. But sitting among people gasping and crying, I was a lot more invested. People in the theatre were definitely into it. I hear one theater in Mangalore had to stop screening midway because a woman started screaming while watching the movie (don't ask me why, I have no idea). Actually there was more than one such incident.
@shrikant @vinayaravind I watched this movie on the big screen, and didn't think it was meant for an OTT experience. There were parts where I genuinely got spooked in the theater, don't think I'd have been half as shocked on a smaller screen. Also the original Varaha Roopam has been removed from OTT, that changes the experience.
@mgilpereira @argohdes oh yes, just tried it. Didn't occur to me. Thanks!
@mgilpereira @argohdes @politicalscience bummer there's no option to translate text on app.
@argohdes @politicalscience yes I agree, very little about it on here.
