Twitter Blue “verfication” is causing absolute carnage for big brands on Twitter.

There’s no blue checkmark in the world worth giving your credit card info to a company that just fired the bulk of its devs responsible for digital security.

Witticisms aside, take this seriously. They no longer have a Chief Information Security Officer, Chief Privacy Officer, Chief Compliance Officer, or head of Trust and Safety (the former three resigned together yesterday). And fired thousands of devs, many of whom may rightly feel ill-treated. Then there are all the malicious opportunists smelling blood in the water. Do NOT give Twitter your payment info or sensitive details (e.g. via DMs to anyone), please!

Close up of the filigree #torc from the #BlairDrummond #hoard which was found in 2009.

This torc is likely about 2300 years old and is very distinctive, unusually showing a very #European (probably #Greek or #Etruscan) style of #making . However, there's no reason to suggest it has to have come from continental Europe, as #craftspeople and #ideas were travelling all over at this time.

As some of you know, as well as looking at #torcs & #gold, I also make #chocolate #archaeological #artefacts .

It's a #hobby, I don't sell them & often only make something a couple of times. I do it for the challenge!

As we're heading into the weekend, here's one I made earlier: a chocolate #replica of the #Netherurd torc, as it might have been.

On that issue of public broadcasters setting up Mastodon servers and accounts for their editorial brands: One major public broadcaster just told me in confidence they are preparing for it already. More to come, I‘m sure.

Decided to look at network stats again. There are 1M more people using #Mastodon today than there were on October 27.
