I sat by an election denier on the airplane and he started poking me in the arm to be emphatic about his views on people stealing ballots secretly and the airplane was full and I couldn’t move anywhere so I started explaining the yellow fever in very great detail, all the way down to telling him about the bloody vomit that looks like coffee grounds and it worked. He stopped talking to me. The moral of this story is you can’t out-weird an academic; our toolset is too vast. #vastearlyamerica

Just to make people aware there are strains of #Covid in the country which don't show up on Antigen tests.

My son did 3 Antigen tests, 2 different brands, they were all negative, but was referred for a PCR due to his symptoms.

PCR test returned positive today.

@ParkinJim it's not even a question for me given the risk that comes with being infected.
Did we ever encourage people to get infected with HIV or the measles? Encouraging chicken pox parties, in retrospect, only exposed children to a virus that exhibits latency. It's all so wrong.

Today's is one of my favourites from over a decade ago, at a site run by Worcestershire Wildlife Trust, and is of a common kingfisher.

We watched this male fishing in the small lake for over an hour. Mostly he preferred diving from posts at the water's edge, but when he flew up into this willow tree, I made sure I got the shot.

@Chillax unfortunately as we still have First Past The Post, sometimes you have to hold your nose and vote for something less than perfect to try and make change.

Don’t let “perfect” be the enemy of “good”.

But we absolutely need proportional representation.

Intentional or not, getting fired by publicly contradicting Elon was a brilliant move.

Under normal circumstances, contradicting the boss in a public forum is a bad idea. BUT THESE ARE NOT NORMAL CIRCUMSTANCES.
