Wondering how to use Mastodon? Here's a guide* via @joannastern@twitter.com.
And it should be a free WSJ link.
*The fact that many people need an explainer on using Mastodon is not a great sign ...but whatever.

@timlee @adamdavidson Maybe I was following the wrong people on Twitter (too many political people?) but I am astonished by the numbers of fascinating folks HERE talking the Sciences, History, Journalism, and Arts - from all over the world. There’s so much more to life than red/blue. Except for their civility, I have no idea of their politics. Follow everyone you find interesting, and weed out later if you have to. It’s #FollowFriday BTW - good way to get a start.
Public Service Warning
Mastodon has a very big surge of new users right now. There's no way to tell if it will be sustained, but at this early point it looks similar to Nov 18 when when Musk pulled the employee purge.
It is very challenging for system administration to accommodate so many new users. If your server starts to struggle, it is not broken and will get sorted out.
We're all in this together. It's our social network. Be patient. What we are building is amazing.
On the docket today:

At this 3rd anniversary of the start of the pandemic I’d like to thank the scientists, health and social care workers, and essential front line workers who saved millions. Many literally owe you their lives. It’s rare that I ask this but please consider reblog/boost to spread gratitude. I will never forget or forgive those who spread anti-science ignorant disinformation. Usually for financial and/or political objectives. And it continues. Vigilance is still needed. Greetings from Switzerland.
Long-time listener, first time guest!
I was excited to talk about algorithmic governance on the

I think it's a useful overview of the AI Bill of Rights and EU AI Act for those who are new to the topic

And now it's 100% official: Judge Aileen Cannon has dismissed Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago special master case, following the 11th Circuit's ruling that she lacked jurisdiction to do all of this.
The J6C committee met today to begin discussions about referrals. It would be quite the anti-climax not to refer Trump; I can't see it. Thanks as always @NicolleDWallace@twitter.com for having me at the table to discuss.
