As Sue Wilson argues (for @YorksBylines)...
'If the Conservatives seriously believed that restoring our overseas voting rights would work in their electoral favour, they may be in for a very rude awakening'!
Having watched the #Tories shred the UK global reputation (much more obvious to those abroad than at home), those living abroad may actually find the Tories even more useless than #voters in the UK do...
Another wheeze bit to blow up in #RishiSunak's face?

As an overseas resident, I have just applied to have myself put back on the electoral roll by the council where I last lived in the UK. They have replied saying that I was never on the electoral role at my last address there (which I believe to be untrue as I'm pretty nearly 100% certain I can remember voting there) and they therefore require me to jump through lots of hoops to get put on the electoral roll at my old address!
@Paulos_the_fog @marcusjenkins @ChrisMayLA6 @YorksBylines Good luck! I just did the same and it was as easy as pie and as smooth as can be. I wonder if different authorities have different approaches/agendas. Persevere!
@Paulos_the_fog @ChrisMayLA6 @YorksBylines Wow, quite a different experience from Birmingham. I was last registered to vote there because my last UK home was there (in the heart of the Balti Triangle!). The last gasp was to vote (overseas citizen) against #Brexit before my 15 years were up. Now the Birmingham electoral office is practically falling over themselves to get me back as am overseas voter.
