Obviously, Frank Hester is exactly the sort of person who should NOT be allowed special access to our politicians. But this line in this article about him caught my attention:
"It takes the total donation from Hester in the past year to £15 million"
According to the Electoral Commission, the #Conservative party's annual turnover is £30 million. So one (sexist and racist) donor provided HALF their total income...
@simon_brooke Leaving aside the racism and sexism.
I'm now of the view that any donation to a political party over £10000 should be taxed at 200%, any over 1000000 at 1000%. So to donate £1million you would then have to pay £10million in tax.
