@JonChevreau Sorry, that was meant to be jocular. I'm not a fan of Bluesky and am saddened to see it sucking away Mastodon users.

@Gustodon I don’t think too many seasoned Mastodonians will abandon this for Bluesky. Some may become dual citizens. My take is that Mastodon is Quality and interactions, not numbers. To the extent it harkens back to Twitter’s heyday, Bluesky will be about quantity, quick hits and relatively superficial interactions. Personally, I come here first and later check a few other places.

@JonChevreau @Gustodon That's my take as well. I've piddled around over at Bluesky and while it has some posters that I like to read, journos mostly, it's quite shallow and only interesting for a browse. For satisfying conversations with genuinely interesting people, Mastodon wins hands down. So for me anyway, it's about 20% Bluesky and 80% Mastodon as far as social media consumption.

Yes I use mainly Mastodon and Bluesky these days - I abanoned "Twatter" some months back!

@Paulos_the_fog @JonChevreau @Gustodon I never did use Twitter much at all. Like Threads, the algorithms were so obvious that I found it unpleasant. I was required by work to have a Twitter account but quit it altogether when I retired and haven't been back.
