Assisted dying 

Hmmm..... this looks likely to be a key aspect of then ongoing discussion of the Assisted Dying Bill; should doctors be able to raise the 'procedure' in their consultations when the patient hasn't?

On one side the BMA may be right; this would interfere with the ability of doctors to advice their patients.... but, it does look like the sort of pressure(s) that critics have been worried about; a doctor raising the prospect is hardly neutral.

Has the British government made any effort to consult with countries like Switzerland, Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg who have had provision for euthanasia on their stature books for years? I doubt it! The British can never take good advice from others - it somehow diminishes them!

Not as far as has been reported... the British often dismiss things 'not invented here', and that is part of the problem...
