These rather charming creatures are very common where I live in rural Luxembourg; so much so that they have achieved the dubious distinction of being considered vermin! The reason for this, is their tendency to explore the under-bonnet space on parked cars and other vehicles and chew through electrical wiring and rubber hoses; not a popular habit!
They are nocturnal visitors to the compost bins in our garden where they forage in the food waste!
