It's interesting to contrast the cowardice of the sons of many of the rich and famous like trump in the USA, with the most famous family in the UK, the royal family.
Trump got a deferment through being unfit to serve even though he had been adjudged fit previously (Lieutenant Bone Spurs) and George W Bush got posted to the National Guard. Neither ever served in Vietnam even though they should have done!
Contrast that with Prince Andrew, the Duke of York who was a helicopter pilot on the front line in the Falklands war and was in harms way ever day he was there!
One of the jobs Prince Andrew (and other helo crews) was assigned was to hover his helicopter just above the vessel on which he was based so as to cause sea-skimming missiles to see the helicopter as the target rather than the warship itself! The idea was that the sea-skimming missiles were never designed to fly more than a few metres above the sea's surface so locking on to the helicopter would cause it to fly above the ship but below the helicopter. Prince Andrew himself recounted an event that caused the Royal Navy to stop using helicopters as a decoy when under attack by sea skimming missiles. A missile actually flew over the top of the helicopter rather than between the ship and the helicopter as was expected!
Likewise with Prince Harry who crewed an Apache attack helicopter on the front line in Afghanistan. His life was on the line during every sortie!
