For anyone who is interested, my header photo is of the most stupendous sunset I have ever seen. On the right is the waterfront of Vientiane, the capital of Laos, on the left is Thailand and in the middle, acting as the border between the two countries is the mighty Mekong river.

So the bottlers of sparkling wines on the continent are going, at enormous expense, to tool up to fill a new non-standard sized bottle just to please a few British fuckin wankers fetishizing prehistoric measures even though that bottle size could not legally be sold anywhere else in the EU - I don't think so!

a EU citizen's initiative to tax the rich more so that we can take more action against global warming and social inequalities.
It currently has 100k+ total votes, but we need a lot more to make it work. France already has 130% of the needed votes (76k out of 55k), but e.g the netherlands only 2% (400 out of 20k).

As everyone possessed of a functioning brain cell knows, the 'small boats crisis' is entirely the fault of the fucking tory scum.
There is no legal route to access asylum in the UK for the overwhelming majority of refugees! Why do they want to come to the UK, one might ask - it is party because the British government and civil service couldn't organize an orgy in a brothel so it is ridiculously easy to disappear and work on the black in Britain, but also because English is the world's most popular 2nd language which gives most people who want to settle in the UK an advantage over settling in say France or Germany!

I would love to know the proportion of patients needing hospitalization who were fully vaxxed and boosted -v- those who weren't but I guess medical confidentiality is an issue therein.

I reached the stage of asking for a change of room and was given one!
The new room was on the 6th or 7th floor which meant that I got a really good shake up when there was an earthquake that was felt in Chiang Mai. The quake was in Burma but was felt at varying strengths as far afield as India and much of SE Asia. Chiang Mai was quite close to the epicentre and I found it very disorientating!
I spent several weeks living in an hotel in Chiang Mai in Thailand. For about a week the people in the room adjoining mine were Americans who seemed to need to conduct business with the US day and night. Obviously, since the US is a loooooong way from Thailand they had to shout during EVERY SINGLE conversation to make sure their correspondent could hear them!
