Atheist; loathe almost all religions and pity the people deluded enough to follow them. I make exceptions for Buddhism as it isn't really a religion in the strictest sense of the word as it doesn't postulate the existence of any god, and Jainism which is the epitome of peace.
For anyone who is interested, my header photo is of the most stupendous sunset I have ever seen. On the right is the waterfront of Vientiane, the capital of Laos, on the left is Thailand and in the middle, acting as the border between the two countries is the mighty Mekong river.

Glyphosate, the active ingredient in many commercial herbicides, is the most heavily applied herbicide worldwide. The recent rise in glyphosate application to #corn and #soy crops correlates positively with increased death rates due to Alzheimer’s disease and other #neurodegenerative disorders. Glyphosate has been shown to cross the blood–brain barrier in in vitro models, but has yet to be verified in vivo. Mark Twain famously said, "It's easier to fool people than to convince them that they have been fooled." Convincing someone that they have been fooled involves the admission that they made a foolish choice without the proper vetting. This can be especially difficult when masses of people and vast sums of money are involved.

I'm used to Americans having strange perceptions of Europe in general, and the Netherlands in particular, but I just remembered that one woman who wanted to move to the Netherlands because we have so many horses.
I don't remember the exact number she quoted, but it was something ridiculous, equivalent to around five horses per person.
The Royal Dutch Equestrian Sports Federation (KNHS) quotes 450.000 horses in their 2016 numbers 🐴
