Dear followers, as some of you have learned through Twitter or some other channel, I have been keeping myself busy learning modern standard Albanian. Since the Mastodon platform allows me, like any user, I reckon, to write rather lengthy posts (TOOTS!), I feel I could send out small (or rather: Not-so-small) bits of Albanian grammar and vocabulary for you to enjoy, or to contemplate and/or headdesk on. Let's test the power of (early) Mastodon. Could anyone answer the following question? What would be the standard word for 'sofa' in Southern Azeri? It would be 'divan' in Northern Azeri (i.e. the Azeri standard of Azerbaijan), but I really think that this would be a loan from Russian for naming this object.

It's strange right? Because of a different interface the vibes around this place is a lot different to Twitter, so I get the feeling "the dynamics" and my behaviour on this channel may be not so similar to what I feel/felt and do/did on M*sk's (still!) recently acquired toy-cum-headache.
