Rare positive news regarding Google:
At least their decision to over the last year or so have their initial primary function, public Internet search-engine, start just ignoring or "reinterpreting" search terms entered and thus giving results not in any way relevant to those requested...
should give others a very nice opportunity to replace Google for that function.

Even if one puts words or phrases in quotes or after plus-signs to signify "exactly this must always be in the results",
one can now search for "X", get the result, go to a top result and find that "X" is not present anywhere on the page, because Google decided you actually meant to search for "xenomorphous" instead.
Thereby giving about the same quality results as "bing!" (LOL) and DuckDuckGo.

I miss HotBot (and AltaVista).

@QuantumHemp If a search engine decides to goof around with search terms to find synonyms... that may be good even,
but if I e.g. search specifically for a combination of five words verbatim (in quotes) because I remember them being in the text I want to find again, then they goof the words into other words and fumble the entire meaning of the search..? No.

@b9AcE

I remember altavista and dogpile search. I agree with thee. Just very busy to write so many words.

Search (as a tool of research) is being eroded by pop culture dolts, every day, less scientific and objective...
