Ground rules on use of ChatGPT in academic writing (part 2)
#medicalwriting #academicwriting #AI #llms #chatgpt
The key message from the journal Nature's ground rules on use of LLM tools like Chat GPT: no LLM tool will be accepted as a credited author on a research paper
Ground rules on use of ChatGPT in academic writing
#medicalwriting #academicwriting #AI #llms #chatgpt
The journal Nature has issued some ground rules on using ChatGPT and other large language models (LLMs) in academic writing.
Why did news on a study presented at ASCO 2022 go viral?
#medicalwriters #AI #informatics
News articles from major publishers used exaggerated language that was picked up by other media and by influential non-medical social media accounts.
The exaggerated language substantially overemphasized the narrative of this trial, and likely played a key role in the viral spread of information among the general public in news and social media.
This methodology, using AI combining natural language models with text analytics allows analysis of large volumes of text to gain insights into the spread of messages.

23rd-29th January 2023

We have the tools to make cervical cancer a thing of the past. HPV vaccination, cervical screening, and treatment for cell changes can all help prevent it but we need to increase awareness and uptake, and the funding to do so.
Did you know that 1 in 3 women do not take up their cervical screening (smear test) invite?

I always find this wax depiction of a girl with smallpox hugely affecting. It was made by Giuseppe Astorri in the early 19thC, and is currently on display in the Museo Luigi Cattaneo at the University of Bologna. Smallpox was eradicated by vaccination in 1978
