Is this instance dead? Like I see only 4 people who are active

Hey guys I just wanted to know whether its possible to rom hack old doom. If anyone has any experience with rom hacking then please do reply. I think it's gotta do something with assembly language programming but am not too sure. Also I am really new to programming in general so please try to treat me like a baby😅 . I am thinking of learning programming on my own and thought making my own game would be a good start. Any help will be really appreciated!
