I'm surprised to find that the 1 percent hold roughly the same amount of wealth in Norway (30.6%) as they do in the United States (35.5%). It would seem that our tax system is barely making a dent in their wealth. Norway's wealth is only more evenly distributed if you look away from the 1 percent. They seem to escape steep taxation no matter where they live. Are they so powerful and influential that no one can touch them?
