"Fascist" and "anti fascism" get thrown around a lot, and I feel like people aren't using the same definition, or maybe don't even know the definition. CW for length

Forcible suppression of opposition is part of what it means to be a fascist. I understand that using power to physically attack people to suppress their ideas from being heard isn't the full definition of fascism.
How do you know who is full fascist? Are there really people out there seeking a race based nationalist dictator to control economic and social things and forcibly supress opposition? Or is there a different objective definitional lens you use?
