I think that being raised in a single parent home is a stronger predictor of future jail time than race.
Today over 70% are born into a single parent home.
So what changed from 1960 when only 22% of black children were raised with only one parent to 1985 when 67% were?
Pointing to slavery doesn't fit, as slavery ended long before 1960.
