I find that most identity is bestowed rather than self identified. A few tweaks and the paragraph is an argument to end birthright citizenship (I'm not arguing citizenship laws, just as an example of another identity that's much less objective than one based in biological reality) :
By slapping a flag on our little ones (and declaring it legal all over the planet) before they even enter the birth canal, we are removing entirely their sense of agency to develop their own national identities and to control that identity online and legally. We are completely erasing the spectrum of diversity when it comes to citizenship.
I also find it a pro life argument, they're our little ones even before they enter the birth canal. There's certainly another few tweaks that would make an anti abortion pamphlet.
