This month's interesting facts about glycans - we take a look at "bacterial cellulose"! Yes you heard that correct! Cellulose is found all around us in the form of clothing, wood, paper products and is usually sourced from plants. But bacteria also produce a form of it.

It's great to see this #Caenorhabditis mannosidase III #glycotime manuscript out in @jbiolchem
Product of the @FWF_at project awarded to former postdoc Shi Yan showing how a specific mannosidase is necessary for the biosynthesis of a subset of complicated N-glycans.

2 Postdoctoral Research Positions at the Complex Carbohydrate Research Center (CCRC) UGA, Athens (GA), USA

The Urbanowicz Lab at the University of Georgia’s Complex Carbohydrate Research Center invites applicants for two fully funded postdoctoral research positions available immediately.

The laboratory is leveraging the development of new tools for analysis of carbohydrate active enzymes and innovating high throughput assays for validation of gene function.

We’re especially seeking in applicants that are interested in the intersection of plant biology, biochemistry, glycobiology, and phenotypic variation.

For more information about this position please contact Dr. Breeanna Urbanowicz (ccrc.uga.edu/team/breeanna-urb)

🚨 Deadline for Abstract submission extended to August 5th, 2024 🚨

This is your last chance to submit an abstract for the 2024 SfG Annual Meeting. The Program Committee agreed to extend the deadline to Monday, August 5th, 11:59pm Eastern Time (EST).

There will be no Late Breaking Abstracts this year, so don't miss out! Take advantage of the extended deadline to submit your abstract and showcase your research.

New paper accepted!
