I'm trying to find out where self-taught ends for different people.
When somebody says they've taught themselves something, what would you still accept as "self-taught"?
I'm narrowing down the question. Where do you draw the line when it comes to the term "self-taught"?
@alinanorakari i draw the line where i'm no longer in control of *how* i learn. so, the opposite of self-taught is learning within an institution: school, university - anything with tests in place that can put me in a fail state.
@lritter @alinanorakari self-taught = self-failing? :) (only you tell yourself you've done it wrong?)
@Soylentgraham @alinanorakari correct. fail and move on quickly, without additional stress of maintaining existence and livelihood.
