I found it very confusing at first. I’ve downloaded Metatext and it seems to work well. Search finds people often before you finish their name.
The star thing is a sort of personal “like” but it doesn’t effect the visibility for others. The reblog/retoot/retweet thing is called “boosting”. It’s the only way (I think) to raise the profile of a toot (tweet).
There is a distinct lack of nastiness here.
@DutyBard I like the notion its a kinder place to hang out… yes please to that! I think I will get into the swing of it, twitter has been v important to me - so I’m motivated! I have read a tiny bit about posts and making them user friendly, I really hope lots of the birders I follow can transition over here somehow!
