@TIR_scienceblog I do like these guidelines because they reduce ghost/guest authorship. It does raise a tricky scenario which I think you may have experience of. Multiple undergrads contribute in small ways to a project that takes years. They move on and you lose contact with them (or they don't respond to emails). The guidelines say that they have done 1 but haven't done 2+3+4 so they can't be an author. What do you do? Get someone to repeat their work? Leave them off the paper?
