A big challenge with blogging is feeling the pressure to say something new and unique.
Two categories of content that completely skip that: TILs (Today I Learned) about things you've just learned, and posts that describe projects you've just built.
So that’s my advice for blogging: write about things you’ve learned, and write about things you’ve built!

I'm Ian, I work as a data scientist in industry, focused on visualization.
My favorite visualization tools are ggplot2, Vega-Lite, and Observable Plot. The siren song that draws me in: pondering how libraries are designed. For me, it's fascinating how each of these implementations of the grammar of graphics differs, making some things easier and others harder.
Another siren song is color design for visualization. Coming to realize there is no victory, only compromise.
