We're recruiting a new researcher on @clarityprojuk You need to have a background in speech processing, and up for running challenges to improve speech in noise for hearing aids jobs.ac.uk/job/CYK828/research

The @CadenzaChalleng I work on has just launched a novel series of ML/DSP music challenges. Tasks: listening over headphones and in the car. This is about improving the music for the millions of people who have hearing loss @SalfordScience cadenzachallenge.org/

Today @CadenzaChalleng launch first ever DSP/machine learning challenge to improve music for those with a hearing loss. Task 1 is ready, and is about improving reproduction over headphones. Next week we'll launch task 2 on listening in the car. cadenzachallenge.org/ @EPSRC

If you missed out on yesterday's webinar for applicants to @SalfordUni brilliant scheme. A recording is uploaded here hub.salford.ac.uk/sirc-acousti Any Qs, get in touch.

We're running a webinar to help out acoustic applicants to this scheme, more details hub.salford.ac.uk/sirc-acousti

Post-doc position to run machine learning challenges to improve the processing of speech by hearing aids. Working on claritychallenge.org/
BTW challenge is the current one.
Any Qs, get in touch. This position is in Sheffield, but I'll be involved.

Diff. between our simulated train and measured eval dataset:
* Talkers speaking differently.
* Real room acoustics.
* Directivity of interferers.
* Transducer noise.
* Lower order Ambisonics.

final will be on Monday. Waves on a Beach vs Leaves Rustling in the Trees. After all the votes, we've come down to two sounds with really similar audio qualities!

2nd semifinal while there is a lull is the less important 🍃 vs 🐦 Out of these two, which is your favourite sound?

First semi-final I find this one hard to call. Which gets your vote?
