Taking a break from politics for a second to talk about meta for this app. And intentionally not CWing it because it’s the people that don’t understand CW tags that I’m talking to. Sorry everyone else.
I have a lot of things I don’t want to see and on Twitter I had over 100 words and a thousand accounts muted. I curated my own timeline. Here people need to take the steps to hide a lot more topics, and I get that’s difficult.
We’re all gonna have to learn what common topics are to cw because what causes me anxiety might not cause someone else anxiety. We’re all just gonna have to figure it out. So CW very liberally until we get the hang of it, yeah? Yeah.
As someone with a lot of triggers of various degrees (mild anxiety to full blown panic attack), it’s new for me to have so much of this content too.
Also yes politics can be a legit trigger for people. Mild or severe. It’s variable. But it’s legit.

See here's the thing. My life revolves around politics. I work in healthcare. I work with vaccines. Science is inherently political. Every scientist will tell you that our existence itself political and we can't just put our lives and careers behind a CW. Our servers don't require it for politics. There's gotta be give and take here.
@angel_ponders
Absolutely. I am doing so with US politics etc, it's just in _general_ the How To posts have been very politics is verboten unless you CW it from folks on certain instances. I tag my shit and it's pretty evident what I'm up to. That's fine.
I just feel like a lot of folks don't realize what they're saying. I just boosted someone who made a good point, how do they know WHEN to click a CW?
@War_Kittens yeah. It’s going to be a learning curve. Since this is all open source, I wonder if someone can figure out how to mute words so the responsibility shifts back to us. I hate to barge into a new place and start demanding things, but it’s a useful feature for people with common triggers.
