I'm watching the debates on CW usage and am trying to figure out how one makes this work across a widely federated network where expectations are likely quite varied.

I'm not sure it's possible for even well-intentioned folks to *know* what all different people might be expecting CWs for. I saw one for "eye contact" on a photo the other day, which is something I would have never thought of previously, for example.

It feels like at best each server can advertise expectations for local accounts?

My dude, I know that I, personally am a bigger asshole than most people. A lot of my friends would agree with that. I am absolutely willing to CW some politics and certain things like extreme violence. I'll even CW fandom stuff and some filthy minded things.

However — when we start getting into to things like eye contact and other, "It makes me uncomfy," situations, that is falling into the not my problem category. I'm trying to be nice about this but, how can people think that we should cater to that kind of denominator?
