BREAKING: @OCDSB@twitter.com expressed UNANIMOUS support for the motion to hire a Jewish Equity Coach. That they plan to vote in favour of the motion indicates unequivocally that #antisemitism has no place in #Ottawa schools. IMO this is huge. Thank you to everyone. #onted #EnoughIsEnough

The Washington Post (my former employer that I am still fond of) has now had two reporters suspended from #Twitter for transparent BS. If the paper's leaders were wise they'd completely leave the site. Otherwise they're ceding editorial control to Elon Musk. #journalism

Since the press is not publicizing that many people are taking precautions, we must connect people ourselves.

@Foodiekenobi

💯 .

I never wanted to know one single thing about him before he bought Twitter and I still don't. Yet, it is impossible to not be confronted with his latest machinations no matter where one goes. I really wish he hurries up and gets on his flight to Mars.

There are SO MANY supporting arguments for better ventilation all around...

Scientists have found "airborne iron oxide nanoparticles" in the London Underground.

"The abundance of ultrafine maghemite in London Underground dust samples could be caused by iron-containing compounds from wheels, brakes and tracks being exposed to air for longer periods of time due to poor ventilation and then resuspended in the air when trains arrive at platforms."

Actually, WAIT a second. Does this data control for the fact that the people getting the bivalent boosters are more likely to be taking OTHER safety precautions against catching Covid (like N95 masks, HEPA filters, etc.)?

Oh. It doesn't.

"Finally, selection bias and residual confounding bias cannot be excluded, including from risk behaviors or preventive treatments."

So we don't know how effective the bivalents are.

This is apparently the tweet that led to my suspension from Twitter. Right as I was reinstated they announced a new policy that they apparently found me to have retroactively violated

I always find it amusing/pathetic that anti-vaxxers and anti-maskers with no medical background think that they can convince me that the hundreds of journal articles I've read regarding Covid are wrong and their silly memes are right.

IN-DEPTH: Should Canada sell its public healthcare system to private hedge funds? CBC asks Kevin O'Leary for a closer look

1. You can catch Covid multiple times.
2. Reinfections are common, not rare.
3. Breakthrough infections are common.
4. Covid can kill you months after you recover.
5. It can cause brain damage.
6. It can cause blood clots and heart attacks.
7. It doesn’t spare children.
8. Vaccines help, but only some.
9. Masks work.

1) Radiologist reading rooms in hospitals often have excellent #ventilation despite being small enclosed spaces.
2) Dried sneeze residue on radiology monitors disappeared in 2020 with universal #masking requirements.

To all those who scold me for staying on Twitter in the belief that I thus contribute value to Musk by contributing content: I say that misses -- as Musk misses -- the reak value of Twitter. It's not content; that's the world seen through mass media's glasses. The value resides instead in relationships. I don't want to cut off those relationships for I wish to entice some to move here.
Maybe, just maybe, I'll outlive Musk's cash and the Twitter that is left can be federated, too.

How often do you look at the federated feed? Please boost so I can get more answers

Although I love music of all kinds, I am completely hopeless at holding a tune. I have never aspired to play an instrument although I tried my hand at guitar for about 4 minutes years ago. However, I decided to try one more time and settled on buying myself a keyboard.

Wish me luck and pity my next door neighbours.😀

It's neither the peak nor the trough that measures human suffering, but rather the area under the curve. There's no success in that graph, only failure. Not just failure to prevent or mitigate infection, but failure to create an illusion of normalcy. What a disaster.

Thanks to all the supportive, caring parents, students, educators, and community members who’ve written to say that you have our backs as we try to do what we can to help children and educators in #Ottawa. Much appreciated. I hope that tonight’s outcome will be to #BringBackMasks
