@ZingerLearns Nice! I've bought a few prints and things as well over the years!
Back when I used to have an on-campus office, I had some of their graphics printed out (along with ones from elsewhere) that just so happened to frame me whenever I was on a Zoom call, plus similar things on the outside of my door.
Whoa! Not only are there literally hundreds of downloadable CC BY-NC-ND graphics on the #JustSeeds site, but also lots of fonts to use!
Only in Republican world can a man assault a reporter, get convicted, and go on to be governor yet a woman named Zooey Zephyr can be a threat to a roomful of men just by talking and end up thrown out of the legislature.
So tired of these people with mouths full of scripture but hearts full of hate.

Pres Joe Biden announces his re-election bid, so of course Republicans assail VP Harris with sexist attacks. Sen Ted Cruz: "When [Putin & Xi] stand up and bully America...can you imagine her just cackling ineffectively and weirdly and creepily?"

I’m sharing this as a screenshot because I think the question from @BlackAzizAnansi and the two replies from @GWillow are easier to read together, in this order (as opposed to free floating, contextless, in your timeline).
To steal ideas from one person is plagiarism. To steal from many is research (Wright 1979).

Scientists in India protest move to drop Darwinian evolution from textbooks.
“Scientists in India are protesting a decision to remove discussion of Charles Darwin’s theory of evolution from textbooks used by millions of students in ninth and 10th grades. More than 4000 researchers and others have so far signed an open letter asking officials to restore the material”. @academicchatter https://www.science.org/content/article/scientists-india-protest-move-drop-darwinian-evolution-textbooks
Weight bias: Studies show that overweight women face a wage penalty, 16% for female execs. Overweight men are not penalized or earn more. Weight isn't a protected category in the US so discrimination is not illegal.

Statistical data shows the NUMBER ONE thing that threatens the safety of children in America is not:
drag queens
transgender health care
books or libraries
women’s health care
easy access to voting
It’s #guns! It’s the easy access to ammo and guns coupled with the toxic need for men to measure up to each other.
This happened just two days ago.
Another day in America.

It is remarkable to me how the education system has conditioned educators, at least in the US to either not ask at all (and really rightfully demand) or consistently ask for too little when we do ask.
We need to look no further than classroom supplies, and how the system has helped internalize that teachers should spend their own money to provide basic things that in literally every other field and industry are provided, like pencils and pens.
We really need to make more concerted efforts about this and call out schools and policymakers. When schools are out of paper it should not be teachers' responsibility to buy some.

Good morning to readers. Kyiv remains in Ukrainian hands.
Some career news: I’m leaving NPR as part of the layoffs that dramatically reduced the company’s workforce.
I’ve decided to go back into Ukraine to keep reporting.
But this time, alone.
#HigherEd is burning in Connecticut. Under Gov. Lamont’s budget, the CSCU system may have to lay off 600-800 faculty and staff, close programs, cut courses, and increase class sizes. https://ctmirror.org/2023/04/25/rome-and-higher-ed-is-burning-in-connecticut/

Wow, the WashIngton Post treats Trump's vows to create a fascist federal government as just a routine political story. Here's the headline and deck:
"Trump touts authoritarian vision for second term: ‘I am your justice’
"The former president is proposing deploying the military domestically, purging the federal workforce and building futuristic cities from scratch."
This stuff is beyond authoritarian.
