One of the greatest quality of life upgrades we’ve made in the last few years is that I installed a filtered cold *and hot* water tap next to the faucet for the kitchen sink, meaning there’s instant hot water for tea. We had zojirushi electric kettles for years before that, but having near-boiling water on tap is a (decadent, admittedly) daily joy.

@anildash I've got that going in my renovated kitchen. Another thing I'm looking forward to is a fridge with an autofilling water dispenser. My system would be complete if I could find a way to have instant carbonated water.

@acjay @anildash There are a ton of under sink carbonators you can buy.

@foxxtrot @anildash Don't know if I've been searching poorly, but I have not seen many options that aren't DIY or commercial

@acjay @anildash I used that exact search term, "under sink carbonators", and everything is meant for the home.

They're expensive, expensive enough I'd be inclined to DIY, but they are there.

@foxxtrot Ah, searching in DDG wasn't giving me much, but Google is turning up some stuff. In a perfect world, I could find something in the hundreds, around the price of instant hot water dispensers.

@acjay Oh, no. I hadn't actually clicked on any of those sponsored links before. Those prices are *wild*. I'm reasonably sure you could DIY something for ~$250 or so, figured the commercial units were in around ~$700 or so, not well over $1000. Crazy.

@acjay @anildash Fizzy water tap exists, at least in europe. Not my thing, but Quooker Cube is the one I see advertised.
