The city lies devoured
By heaped sparkling white,
Sunken street sounds swallowed
By the calm of crackling quiet.
The night grows distant
As last night’s dreams,
Still, the sky keeps falling
Carried on ragged wind,
Piling in hollows and corners
Like unspoken sentences
In tight-lipped mouths,
Hushed tongues held till morning
In the pristine alabaster.
Under the silence we slumber,
Keeping our toes warm
Until dawn’s golden chill.

Many of us have moved on from the #BirdSite and don’t want to go back, but still want access to some of the news there. I’m thankful for the M’don users who cross post and share, but I refuse to click back to see the tweets. Every time we enter the birdspace and every time we like, retweet, reply or share, #Elon wins.
Instead of sharing tweets, I wish folks would just post a screenshot of pertinent tweets and add third party links for any reference sources.

It’s wild that we can see images like this from NASA’s Webb Telescope - galaxies hundreds of millions of light years away, stars being born & dying - and yet carry on ravaging the planet as if it’s not miraculous that somehow, we’re here.
A tiny speck of sand in the vastness of the cosmos. #space
With all of the horrible things happening in the world, it’s nice to find the wins. Especially in the area of our environment. A group called Coral Guardian is restoring coral reefs, and it’s quite magnificent. More wins like this, please.
