Researchers have concluded that handwriting helps children's cognitive development and letter recognition.

Brit's were taught chancery italic writing in primary school. American were taught cursive which has little resemblance to latin fonts. Guess which learned to read quicker.

I miss my fountain pen days. I was an architect and artist who sketched with a pen, not a pencil. Now I'm arthritic, so I use machines more. Nothing better than the connection from the mind to the hand tho.
