Very interesting how when Russian soldiers rape children everyone is disgusted but when Israeli children are raped it’s understandable, or was provoked or gets both sided to death. If you’re against rape and murder then don’t justify it or both sides it ever.

@enoch absolutely, but we do get to examine how we ended up here. We do also get to examine past conduct, e.g. if electing Hamas to government indicates that all Palestinians are terrorists, then Israelis repeatedly electing hard right wing governments does also indicate a desire to escalate the situation.

This is all ugly, but we have to look at the whole, rather than this one latest tragedy.

For the record, nobody should be raping children, that is just… no, don’t people!

@enoch @DavidNielsen I'm sorry man but you can't look at a conflict that has been happening for 60+ years as an isolated thing.

The reason why it gets commonly both-sided is because there's a lot of very partisan people who use these things to further their interests, and reasonable voices try to understand how we got here because for the actors in question this is cold and calculated, not a random act of senseless violence.
